Rick Grantham, CBIP

Founder · Excel TV

A passion for analytics and data spanning more than two decades — from financial modeling to using Excel for Operations Research optimization. Rick co-founded Excel TV in 2014 with Jordan Goldmeier after the two connected over LinkedIn around a shared idea: make Excel and analytics learning feel less like a chore and more like a community.

Our journey

From a web series to a community.

  1. 2014

    A web series begins

Rick Grantham and Jordan Goldmeier launch Excel TV as a web series — unconventional insights and expert interviews with voices like Chandoo, Mynda Treacy, and Bill Jelen. Jordan’s pitch: a blend of entertainment and education, in the spirit of NPR’s Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me.

  2. 2016

    45+ episodes, 3 seasons

With early collaborator Oz du Soleil, the team produces 45+ episodes across three seasons — Excel TV becomes a recognizable voice in the Excel and data community.

  3. 2019

    Courses & the broader mission

Five targeted courses ship, including the flagship Excel Dashboard Pro based on Jordan’s book Dashboards for Excel. Several hundred students enroll. The mission expands beyond Excel into broader career skills for analysts.

  4. Today

The center of all things data

Hundreds of free tutorials, hand-picked course and book reviews refreshed yearly, shorter episodes for targeted knowledge, and consulting / coaching for analysts who want to land the next role.

What we do
